Objectives

Objective 1 — Promote active ageing through creative movement

Creative Motion encourages older adults to stay physically and mentally active by engaging in theatre-based movement that stimulates the body, the imagination, and emotional expression.

Objective 2 — Enhance physical health, cognitive function, and social well-being

The project supports improvements in mobility, balance, memory, and attention while fostering meaningful social interaction and a sense of belonging within groups.

Objective 3 — Address barriers to participation in traditional fitness programmes

Through adapted techniques, inclusive methodologies, and accessible session formats, the project ensures that older adults with different abilities can safely engage in creative movement.

Objective 4 — Build community capacity through training of professionals and local leaders

Creative Motion equips facilitators, trainers, and community organisations with knowledge and tools to deliver movement sessions that are safe, structured, and uplifting.

Objective 5 — Provide structured methodologies via the Creative Movement Guide

The project develops a clear, user-friendly guide that helps organisations implement theatre-based activities consistently and effectively across different settings.

Objective 6 — Support long-term integration through Train-the-Trainer workshops

By training professionals who can continue teaching others, Creative Motion ensures that the programme remains active and expandable beyond the project’s duration.

Objective 7 — Engage stakeholders through public performances

Theatre-based community events allow participants to showcase their progress, raising awareness among policymakers, caregivers, and cultural organisations about the value of active ageing.

Objective 8 — Facilitate wider dissemination and uptake through dedicated tools and digital actions

The project uses digital campaigns, open-access resources, and targeted communication activities to encourage more organisations to adopt its methodologies.
