The Creative Motion journey continues with the successful completion of the first Train-the- Trainer session, hosted and implemented by our Greek partner NAMASTE – Σύλλογος Εναλλακτικών Δράσεων για μια Καλύτερη Ζωή.
The training marked an important step in the development and implementation of the Creative Motion methodology, bringing together trainers and facilitators who will play a key role in introducing theatre-based movement activities to older adults.
Learning through experience
During the session, participants had the opportunity to explore the Creative Motion methodology through a combination of experiential activities, practical exercises, theoretical input and group discussion.
The training focused on key elements of the methodology, including:
- movement, rhythm and creative expression
- empathy and awareness of space
- group interaction and connection
- adapting activities to the needs and abilities of older adults
- creating safe, accessible and engaging learning experiences
By experiencing the activities themselves, the trainers were able to better understand the principles behind the methodology and reflect on how they can be effectively applied in practice.
Sharing, feedback and collaboration
An important part of the session was the exchange of experiences and feedback among participants. Through reflection and discussion, the trainers explored possible adaptations and approaches that can support the effective delivery of Creative Motion activities with older adults.
This collaborative process is an essential part of ensuring that the methodology is not only creative and engaging, but also inclusive, accessible and responsive to participants’ needs.
From trainers to communities
The Train the Trainer stage is an important bridge between the development of the Creative Motion methodology and its practical application.
By equipping trainers and facilitators with the knowledge and practical experience needed to deliver the activities, Creative Motion aims to support the wider use of theatre and movement as tools for active ageing, participation, connection and well-being.
We would like to thank NAMASTE for hosting and supporting the first Train the Trainer session, as well as all trainers and facilitators who contributed with their energy, creativity and experience.
The Creative Motion journey continues — from trainers, to participants, to communities.
