1st Creative Engagement Lab Successfully Implemented in Bulgaria

On 13 June 2026, our partner Club for Sport and Health Active successfully implemented the 1st Creative Engagement Lab in Sozopol, Bulgaria, as part of the Erasmus+ Sport project Creative Motion.

The workshop brought together older adults to explore a series of theatre-inspired movement activities designed to promote active aging, creativity, confidence, social interaction and emotional well-being in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in four carefully designed activities: The Mirror, Memory Walk, Follow the Rhythm, and Breathing & Calm. Each activity encouraged participants to express themselves through movement while developing coordination, cognitive engagement, relaxation and meaningful social interaction. Music, partner exercises and guided movement created an enjoyable atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable participating, regardless of previous experience or mobility level.

Beyond providing an enjoyable experience, the Creative Engagement Lab represented an important step in the co-creation process of the Creative Motion programme. Participants shared valuable feedback on the accessibility, enjoyment, adaptability and overall effectiveness of the proposed activities. The results confirmed that simple, interactive and music-based exercises generated the highest levels of engagement, while also highlighting the importance of clear instructions and adaptable activities for participants with different abilities.

The insights gathered during the workshop will contribute to the further refinement of the Creative Motion methodology and the development of an inclusive movement programme that supports healthy and active ageing across Europe.

We warmly congratulate Club for Sport and Health Active for successfully delivering the first Creative Engagement Lab in Bulgaria and thank all participants for their enthusiasm and valuable contribution to the Creative Motion project.
